Master Anwarr Thompson, Founder of Easton Academy of Warrior Arts, has studied and trained in the martial arts for over 41 years and has taught practical self-defense for 28 years. He is a Seventh Dan Master Instructor with decades of experience working with students of all ages and abilities.
Master Thompson is widely respected for his work with children and youth, having served the Brockton/ Easton area for 29 years. His background also includes work as Site Coordinator and Youth Care Advocate with the Old Colony YMCA, a camp counselor, and extensive experience training and supporting at-risk youth as well as children and adults with special needs.
This lifelong commitment to teaching, mentorship, and community service forms the foundation of Easton Academy’s philosophy: martial arts as a tool for protection, growth, and well-being.
Easton Academy of Warrior Arts is a holistic martial arts school dedicated to the integration of practical self-defense and internal wellness training. While we place strong emphasis on real-world martial effectiveness, we believe true self-defense must also include the training of the mind and regulation of energy.
Our approach develops strong bodies, calm minds, and resilient spirits, preparing students not only for physical challenges, but for the pressures of everyday life.
At Easton Academy, martial arts training is divided into three interconnected pillars:
We believe external skill without internal control is incomplete, and internal calm without practical skill is insufficient. True martial ability requires both.
Our mission is to provide expert training in practical self-defense and personal protection through the disciplines of Esgrima, Kickboxing, MMA, and Jhāna meditation.
We are committed to developing strong, capable, and mindful individuals—mentally, physically, and spiritually—by emphasizing real-world skills, disciplined practice, and personal transformation.
We also aim to promote Lucayos Esgrima as both a martial art and a living tradition, while strengthening our community by instilling the values of discipline, courage, compassion, and clarity in every student we teach.
At Easton Academy, martial arts and wellness go hand in hand. Training the body without training the mind is incomplete. By cultivating both, we prepare our students to move through the world with confidence, awareness, and balance—on and off the training floor.
