About Us

Anwarr Thompson ( Founder) has studied and trained in the Martial Arts for 41 years. He has taught Self Defense for 28 years. He is a Seventh Dan Master Instructor. He is well known for his work with children over the last 29 years; as site coordinator, and Youth Care Advocate for the Old Colony Y.M.C.A, camp counselor, and has worked with children and adults with special needs, and at risk youth.  ​ 

Shujaa means being a Hero, Warrior, and Brave. These are some of the attributes that one must have to posses an indomitable spirit. At our Academy we aim to build Confidence, Respect, Discipline, Compassion, Kindness, and Leaders, these also are some of the attributes that makes Warriors! Our Academy is a Freestyle School with an eclectic blend of Lucayos Esgrima & Sword Hand Boxing, Animal Fists Quan Fa, Silat and Kenpo & Kuntao, Shotokan-Jiu Jitsu Karate. Kickboxing and Fencing is offered as a sport, thus our Academy is a multicultural school integrating the Martial Arts from the Southeast Asian, Indonesian and Lucayos Caribbean Islands. 

Our Mission is to: Provide expert training in Self Defense and Self Protection, and further development and teach of Esgrima as an art. Emphasize on functional self defense, promote the Sports of Esgrima and Kickboxing, and build strong individuals mentally, physically, and spiritually. Develop Discipline, Character, and Strengthen the community.
